Here are my top 10 money saving tips for the Gold Coast.
Now that its cool to save money and be economical. Every$20 I save is another hour I can don't have to work and can be at home with my wonderful family.
1. Billabong Quiksilver surf gear. Go to Central Park Plaza at Ashmore. They call this the seconds shop. but they sell anything here. My hubby brought the new quiksilver no rash Kelly slater boardsshorts they are advertising now at $120 for $40.
2. Wait for Kirra Surf to have a real sale, they will every season- brought long sleeve wetshirt here for $15 also Billabong boardies for $20
3. Ladies Fashion clothing- Tightrope Pacific Fair. Brought a maxi dress here for $12 saw the exact same dress for $50 in Surfers. Its all about knowing where to shop.
Valleygirl at Harbourtown - you never pay more then $15 and most things are $10.
4.Running shoes- Nike store Harbour Town I have brought $30 runners here. Also the Pines Elanora Sports Action does a sale at the end of June. $50 for all brands. Asics, Nike,Brooks etc.
5. Kids Clothing- Buy end of season gear a size up for next summer. At the moment you can buy swimwear, tees, shorts, dresses. Check Kmart, Target, Best and Less. Just brought at Best and Less a Wetshirt, wetshorts, hat, and sand toys all together size 2 in a pack for $10. I have to go back and buy more.
6. Jewellery and accessories - Diva at Robina Town Centre, Target Isle. They have a $2 shop, everything is $2 or less.
7. Wii and Ds games wait for Kmart to have a sale- check your junk mail! Never pay more then $20 for a game. Just brought 2 Wii games for $19 each at Kmart. Will save for master S's birthday.
8. Electricals and home appliances- check your junk mail. Just brought an awesome Nikon camera for $148 at Dick Smith. ( I love Nikon cameras they take the best photos and they use Carl Zeiss lenses- you will get more shots in focus then other cameras). Also www.lasoo.com.au is good for comparison shopping.
9. PC computers- Buy Dell computers the best value Pc's money can buy. www.dell.com.au. I get mine custom made from them. If anyone wants any help choosing a pc just let me know, this is my specialty. Windows 7 Rocks by the way! Movie Maker is part and is downloaded for free. See you don't need a Mac.
10. If you have a favourite magazine subscribe. I subscribe to "Shop Till You Drop". It cost me $5 an issue instead of $8.95 at the newsagent. This gives me an idea of fashion, then I find similar items all for under $20 instead of the $200 + designer stuff thats features in the mag. Did I mention that I love fashion. Its so much fun, so if I can do it econmically its a bonus.
11. I've got one more. Use all those free cards- Flybuys Coles, Woolworths Orange card, Coffee cards, Even Lenards Chicken shop. They are rewarding you for shopping you are doing anyway. I often get $50 free to spend at Kmart or Coles. Love it!
