How I started surfing.

I always loved the beach, we grew at Bondi Beach Sydney Australia. That famous little clam shaped cove. I had to walk over a hill for about 10 minutes then I was there. My first surfing devise was a surf mat, you know what they are, they are back in again. Everything old is new again. That feeling of the cool refreshing ocean on a hot day- wow. Then to get the adrenaline rush of a wave- wahoo! Next came the boogie board /body board. faster more control on the wave. I could go out of the flagged area and surf were those scary fiber glass boards were. "Oh I'll never surf on one of those, they can hurt if I fall off". Surfing Snapper / Rainbow /Greenmount

Here I am living in Paradise. Literally a surfers paradise. We have the best waves in the world right here on my doorstep. I've traveled and lived all over the world- only places that have surf, of course! Some of my favorite surf locations are: Costa Rica, Mexico, Indonesia (although I won't go there now I have family to protect too many bombings). Its been been flat, and more flat all summer. I kept telling all the Surfing Mums" Feb to March there will be swell- in our cyclone season". Just like clockwork on Feb 1st 2010 the waves came. Since then we have had 2 great swells. I caught some waves at Greeny that were so long my legs ached. How can you explain this joy to someone that doesn't surf! Everything has to be right; the swell, the wind -glassy of course, the crowds, have to sit in the right spot in the lineup. Then Wham Bam the best waves of my life. I love it, yes I'm a surf stoked loving surfer.
