Questions to ask your child after school.

Instead of the usual "how was school?" "good" 
These questions you will actually find out what they do with those 6 hours they are at school.

  • Which story did your teacher read to the class today?
  • What was your favorite part of the story?
  • What was [insert another child’s name] favorite part of the story?
  • What does your teacher have planned this week?
  • What are you looking forward to at school tomorrow?
  • What has been your most favorite activity this year (ask this at various points throughout the year)?
  • What was your favorite part of your day?
  • Did you get frustrated with anything at school today?
  • Were you able to finish all of your work today?
  • Do you have any questions that maybe your teacher couldn’t answer?
  • What did you have for lunch (or, snack)?
  • Who did you sit by during lunch? What did you all talk about?
  • Who did you play with today?
  • What are your friends doing this weekend?

Michael Hutchence - Memories of a great Australian band INXS - INXS - 03 - Never Tear Us Apart  I went to a concert when I was still in High School. It was at Coogee Bay Hotel - surprise concert. Inxs were so famous this was a real small gig. My friend Vanessa and I got our dads to take us. The  the tickets were sold out. My friend started crying, and the doorman let us in. I remember, we somehow pushed our way to the front and I reached out and touched Michael Hutchences' Robin hood style boot. The actual thrill of being so close to a superstar. Brilliant, Finland is Brilliant Teach by Topic not subject!!!! No more you are going to Maths then science then English.  This is relevant to mathematics.  I remember high school maths. Sin Cos and Tan Triangles, I was like whats the point,  If it was applied to the study of Ancient Egypt and measuring of the size of the pyramids, so now you have Geography, ancient history and maths, Add in something about the curse of the pharaohs, curse believed to be cast on any person who disturbs the mummy of an Ancient Egyptian person, especially a pharaoh. King Tuts grave- and you add in science with the study of bacteria or spores that allegedly killed the grave diggers. How interesting would the class be! I would want to go back to high school. Or you could study the 9/11 twin towers disaster in NY. How could an engineer design a building to withstand the hit of an aeroplane, without the whole thing collapsing.
