BEST SURF and Bargain of the WEEK- Video: Gold Coast Stars Shred After The Storm
Today was the best day ever after the storm 5-2-2013.
Cyclone Oswald brought wind and rain and huge swells. Each day calmed a little. The first couple of rainy day were strong and powerful waves like Hawaii. The kind of waves where the wave does the work and not the board, so it was short board time. I rode my 7"2 fun board instead of my 8 footer. It was so big I stayed on the inside, the current was so strong at Rainbow Little Marley, that I drifted to the top of Greenmount when I finally got out. The whole time paddling out with massive walls of whitewash to duck dive. Then luckily there were smaller ones on the top of Greenmount, these had so much power, thick and forceful I thought was at Hookipa in Maui Hawaii. The colour of the water was brown, you could not see anything under you. There were logs and branches and other bits of storm residue everywhere. If you watch this video you will see how rough Snapper was, although the Pros chose to surf D'bah.

Today was my day as the swell calmed the crowds came and it was so packed on the weekend. It was fully dangerous because crowds with the boards everywhere. The rain came today and the swell dropped to 2-3 ft. The rides were so long and fun easy to make.
The dolphins were out too. They came so close to me that I had the put my feet up. They were playing with brown scratchy seaweed. I had so much fun caught so many nice long waves that my thighs ached on one of them it was so long. Little Marley to the middle of Coolangatta. Just had to share because it was the best. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.
My Bargain of the week
$20 for a pair of runners Mizuno
$20 for a pair of cross trainers Nike. This is the price I paid for runners in the 1980's when I went all the way to California to the Nike (NIkEY they pronouce it in the States) Outlet.
The place is Sports Action at the Pines Elanora Gold Coast, they have a table out the front, but you have to be lucky to find your size like I was.
