Qantas, Rapa Nui National Park = Easter Island

Image
My entry to win business class tickets with the best airline Qantas. I wonder if business class comes with beds on the airplanes. I can only dream.  I have been to Eastern Island as a stopover a few times. Just for a plane change. Its the most bizarre place I have ever seen. A small island with very high cliffs in the middle of the ocean. No trees only these statues of faces. Probably to scare people off to look like warriors. It would be interesting to stay here and see how this very isolated island people live and survive. To enter this completion exclusively for Qantas Frequent Flyers, simply name one of the world famous statues in the picture above and in 25 words or less tell us why you'd like to visit that statue with your  one world Explorer fare.  Rapa Nui. True meaning of life, picnic at base of statues and gaze to the ocean. Tranquility found. NO FaceBook, MOBILES just, statues and ocean. Rapa Nui National Park - UNESCO World Heritage Centre

10 natural cold remedies and Spotifiy the best app ever. Dell Windows 8 Computers too.

I got this from another blogger site- Claire K. I saw my name there. I got a shock my writing was there. I must have shared it on Facebook. So I thought I would share it again. Its winter and everybody is fighting colds. I always use the number 2 method. I take garlic oil tablets, as they are the purest form of garlic. Take 2 x 3 a day with meals. When you feel the signs of a cold coming on. They are inexpensive less then $10 available at any supermarket. When you have a sore throat the best help is tea- lemon and honey, make it quite sour and then sweeten with the honey. This will make a great taste. You can use any type of tea- I use black , green or camomile. For breakfast - toast with Honey and cinnamon. I have been reading how they have magic properties when put together. Taste YUM too. Cheers to a short winter and flu season. Like the beatles always sing, " Here comes the sun. do do do Here Comes the Sun. Its alright...." Love that song. Going to listen on Sp

Micheal Hutchince - INXS - 03 - Never Tear Us Apart - Hard Rock Live 1988 - YouTube

Michael Hutchence - Memories of a great Australian band INXS - INXS - 03 - Never Tear Us Apart  I went to a concert when I was still in High School. It was at Coogee Bay Hotel - surprise concert. Inxs were so famous this was a real small gig. My friend Vanessa and I got our dads to take us. The  the tickets were sold out. My friend started crying, and the doorman let us in. I remember, we somehow pushed our way to the front and I reached out and touched Michael Hutchences' Robin hood style boot. The actual thrill of being so close to a superstar. INXS - 03 - Never Tear Us Apart - Hard Rock Live 1988 - YouTube:  Never tear us apart is one of my favourite songs of all time. Everytime I hear it I just want to sing it. I will get the tab online and play it on my guitar. Michael Hutchence - Rough Guide to Hong Kong - Part 1 - 1997  This is cool its Michael enjoying life and travelling in Hong Kong. The best fun and free activity on the Gold Coast

Image
The best fun and free activity is undoubtedly. Right here in the middle of the Gold Coast. It starts with a surf at one of the best right handers in the world. That's at Snapper Rocks to Greenmount at Coolangatta. After your swim or surf the winter water temperature is still 22 degrees in winter. Change clothes and walk up the hill to Point Lookout, here you may see whales and dolphins on the headland. You have a view of the whole Gold Coast from Surfers to Duranbah and Fingal in NSW. Then walk to the Dbah café and check out the art gallery, they support local artists. Have a seat in one of the cafes outdoor seats near the gallery back door enjoy the view as you meditate with the buddha statue. Walk down the hill and feel refreshed after a great day. This is exactly what I will be doing today. With a latte thrown in after my surf. Cafe Dbar :: Art Gallery : 'via Blog this' Love that Ocean! See you out in the surf! KEEP OUR BEACHES FREE FOREVER - KBFF

Image
My letter to Jorno for the Gold Coast Bulletin. He suggests paying to use the beach to fix erosion of sand. My worst nightmare. Daniel Meers, I read your article, "Gold Sands a Goldmine", about paying to go to the beach, with total disgust and had to write to you quickly.  I go to the beach every single day. I surf, swim, kayak, walk, jog, workout, meditate and relax there. The thought of having to pay for this is ridiculous. I love the ocean the sunshine and everything about beach life. Everybody lives on the coast for the same reason to enjoy the beach and just breathe the fresh air. Otherwise they would live inland. Our beaches have the best facilities in the world from fresh water showers, playgrounds, bbqs, pathways for cycling and walking. These facilities are provided for by the council for free. We all pay as part of our rates.  You obviously go to the beach once a year in summer when its so hot and sweaty, that you are sticking to your compute

Sleep - Tired - Grumpy- Social jet lag: how to get your energy back - Women's Health Magazine - Yahoo!7 Lifestyle

Tired, grumpy, complacent? You could have social jet lag. Here's how to fix it. Do you - not sleep enough and try to make up for sleep here and there. This is social jetlag- you are tired and grumpy and forgetful.  You need consistent bedtime, whether its early or late. This will keep you refreshed and alert.  Once you’ve shown social jet lag the kerb, don’t let it creep back in. Aim for seven to eight hours of solid sleep every night, says Dr Sapieha. Most importantly, wake up and hit the hay at the same times each day. It might feel restrictive at first, but the health pay-offs are huge. The link shows the excellent article.  Don't just turn to caffine and cake to fix that afternoon slump. Even though this one looks amazing. Be consistent and go to bed at the same time everyday. The occasional late night is fine- but if you make a habit of it you will suffer with fatigue and less mental alertness. Great article, I seem to be an early bird in summer I'm

Talk About School with Your Kids: Questions to Ask : hands on : as we grow

Questions to ask your child after school. Instead of the usual "how was school?" "good"  These questions you will actually find out what they do with those 6 hours they are at school. Which story did your teacher read to the class today? What was your favorite part of the story? What was [insert another child’s name] favorite part of the story? What does your teacher have planned this week? What are you looking forward to at school tomorrow? What has been your most favorite activity this year (ask this at various points throughout the year)? What was your favorite part of your day? Did you get frustrated with anything at school today? Were you able to finish all of your work today? Do you have any questions that maybe your teacher couldn’t answer? What did you have for lunch (or, snack)? Who did you sit by during lunch? What did you all talk about? Who did you play with today? What are your friends doing this weekend? Talk About School with Your

Compulsory Voting - Australian Electoral Commission

Image
One of my FB friends posted about having to vote- thought I would share. Question for lawyers. Is it compulsory to enrol to vote? If so, is there a fine? Finally, did you know ECQ has an out for protesters like me that says: "Because of my religious beliefs I do not vote. Will I still be fined? No, provided you write to us stating your reason for not voting. You must include your full name, date of birth, address, and signature". Ergo, a secular political system doesn't make rash demands on people who's faith conflicts with a law, yet dishes out fines for anyone who refuses to vote for the turkey or the donkey. The Bully Project -Email sent to our school about bullies

Image
Dear My favourite school, Hi unfortunately bullying is a serious problem at our school. I haven't had any problems, but I know of several people that have. One mum has changed schools (gone to a private school) this year and didn't even ask for help from the principal. She saw another mum asking for help and getting nowhere. "Principals play a huge role in setting the tone for school community. It’s important for students to know that school leadership is on their side." The Bully Project. Kids get in trouble for talking but not for bullying! I saw on "Home and Away" the kids get 3 warnings and then there are serious consequences - like suspension.  I have watched parts of the US the Bully Project on the web. I believe the film/dvd is powerful enough to make an impact on the students. Can we consider buying it and following its recommendations?  http://www.thebullyproject.com/preorder  It costs $29.99 plus postage. Can you please forward this to the P and

Trombone Wow Cool

Image
TROMBONE  My son has a new instrument this year. It comes in a big hard case cool looking case. Its the trombone. I read about this guy in the paper Troy Andrews he's coming to the Blues Fest. So I looked him up. Wow maybe the trombone will be cool after all. He wanted to do drums and percussion but his new teacher this year said they were already too many drummers, his only objective is to make a school band. So he brings home this heavy, professional looking, hard, grey case. I say show me. He takes it out. Its gold and glistens as the sun hits it. He puts it together and it looks amazing .  He blows it it sounds like a fart. hah ahahaha So its the farting instrument. I will be a miracle if he can make it sound good. This guy Trombone Shorty is great so I will show my son this to give his some inspiration for his lesson today. Have a look at this youtube clip. android antivirus protection for smartphones and tablets, laptops, best android apps.

Android antivirus protection for smartphones and tablets, laptops, best android apps Nearly everyone has a smartphone now. (I haven't brought one yet as my Nokia still works perfectly.) Protect your android smartphone and tablets with this free avg app. I didn't even think about this with my sons tablet. I will be installing it now. http://www.avgmobilation.com/android/free-antivirus Protect your smart phone- Never be tempted to simply click a link that looks okay and install what purports to be a free version of an antivirus package. Check the URL; if it isn’t part of a vendor’s official website, don’t visit the page.  Fake antivirus software, written to infect your device or make you think it’s protected when it’s not, has now made its way to smartphones. If you’ve found a package on an app store, click through to the software vendor’s website and download it from there.  http://mylifescoop.com/2013/03/01/smartphone-security-what-you-need-to-know/ Great apps for a

BIG Perfect Waves are here from Cyclone Sandy. 15/3/2013 Swell size: 3-4ft ESE Conditions are starting to moderate with the swell moving to the ESE as Cyclone Sandra tracks off more to the S. It's in the 3-4ft range with bigger sets and clean with SW winds early. SSE winds in the 15-20 knot range forecast for later and the tide is coming in to a high at 10.20am, dropping to a low at 4.20pm. Once again it's the points that are the go, with the Coolangatta points the pick having some very nice ones from Snapper to Kirra. There is still a lot of water moving around. Todays coast watch. It says 3-4 but the wave face is 10-12ft. Love that Ocean! See you out in the surf! SALTY. surfergirlgoldcoast.blogspot.com/

CONGRATS Kelly Slater. You didi it again - Magic! Check out the highlights from the final of the Quiksilver Pro held at Kirra. 13/3/2013.  It was big steep and scary drops, I wouldn't even surf in it. I stood on Kirra Point , right in the middle of the ocean really. It was hot and crowded for the semis.  Then the rain came coupled with the wind it was actually cold. It was the most amazing surfing I have ever seen. In challenging difficult conditiions. For the final I had to have arguments with people so they would not go in  front of me. As they blocked the  view  for me and everyone else. Luckily they were mainly Brazilian, so my  Portuguese  came in handy. One guy even challenged me and wanted to argue. Instead of being apologetic he said,  "Is this your rock" So arrogant and selfish. He moved eventually.  You can Watch on the link- Kelly, Joel and Mick, just tube and barrel wow. Whats happening to women?

Image
IERA event at UCL on 9 March : Lawrence Krauss Have just learned that iERA has now been banned from hosting further events at UCL because of the incident regarding segregated seating at the event at which I appeared . I n Australia, they finally stood up to the narrow minded Middle eastern population. The riots in Sydney were about Middle eastern men spitting on women, at the beach in their bikinis and calling them terrible names. This had been happening for about 15 years. Till Australia stood up and said - NO MORE.  The fact the Middle eastern men treat their women like object for their own desire and pleasure, does not work in our western society. They hurt humiliate and lock them and their freedom away.  Apparently in France, when its pray time if they have to prey and they are crossing the road- the traffic has to wait for them. What the??
